Using Math and Technologies in the Classroom

It is important to think about how we can integrate technology into our learning as technology becomes more integral to our lives. Math and technologies are a great way to assist students in learning more efficiently, engage in interactive lessons, and enhance their understanding of mathematical concepts.

In classrooms where students have difficulty being engaged or concentrating using technology, it can be used to assist them in becoming active learners. This could take the form of a whiteboard virtual or interactive tools that allow students to collaborate. Online learning platforms such as Math Minds, for example uses a variety innovative tools to help students engage in their lessons and increase participation.

This is especially beneficial in mathematics where students learn in different ways. This is especially helpful in maths where students learn differently. Some students may struggle to grasp concepts visually while others prefer to learn in an auditory and kinesthetic way. Using tech to teach math can ensure that every student is getting the most of their lessons.

Mathematical technology also allows students to tackle problems more quickly than it would be in a traditional classroom. Calculators that graph, for example allows students to solve complicated equations at the click of a button and help students visualize solutions. This allows them to improve their understanding of the principles behind math and to make connections between concepts that may be difficult for students to grasp without.
